So I came in because I'm always looking for a good place to eat. Quite often it’s less than stellar. Not here. Not only do I recommend here but I will probably make the 2 1/2 hour drive here to eat something else. The menu had some great choices but I got the chicken pesto sandwich. It was so tender and tasty. Many other places overcook the chicken so it is dry. Again, not here. I also had the salted Carmel cheesecake and yep, it was great. Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other things on the menu. If you are in Wausau, you gotta stop by. You won’t be disappointed!

It was very busy when we got there around noon. We were taken to a table for two—the only open table left—and it was pretty amazing how tightly they pack so many people in. Lunchtime would be uncomfortable if you’re not ok with crowds. There were also a couple dozen unoccupied, comfortable looking, classic barstools available around two adjacent semicircle counters, and I kinda regretted not sitting there. One thing I really appreciated was the good lighting. The kitchen and cooks were visible and really enjoying their work, as were the entire staff. Bottom line: the food was fantastic and we enjoyed it immensely even in the lunchtime crowd.

My step daughter chose The Mint for catering on their wedding Nov 1st at local venue. The food was amazing! I failed to get photos. We had glazed ham, garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, and seasoned green beans. It was set up buffet style, best wedding food ever! We’ve been to high-end venues with beef/chicken options but always dried out or cold. The Mint achieved hot and delicious food! Bonus- - their staff cordial and professional! Would recommend for catering for local venues or for large gatherings! So many guests gave compliments on the food! Thank you Mint Cafe!

Super cute spot, oddly busy on a Wednesday (workday) afternoon! After tasting the food I was not surprised by how busy it was. Our food came out quickly, regardless of how many other patrons there were. I would love to stop by the next time I’m passing through town. Gluten free options!! Truly something for everyone.

First time here and food was really good. I recommend a liquored milkshake, if you're above age lol! I ordered the waygu melt with onion rings as a side. My boyfriend ordered the gyro with cheese curds. He said it was the best gyro he's ever had. I also ordered a cup of the beef noodle soup. It's a cute little cafe, with old pictures along the wall and the tables.

One of the best Wagyu burgers I’ve had in a really long time, worth the upcharge. The sides were perfect as well! I couldn’t decide between the fries and the potato salad so my server gave me a half serve of each and that was the right choice!

What a wonderful classic restaurant in downtown Wausau.
Sat at counter, service was excellent and very kind. Food was speedy, and done just how I like it. Great photos and items from the past on walls and counters! Fun nice place to eat!

I'm giving a 4 star rating, only because the slice is pie was not worth the $8. Otherwise everything else was amazing. The history is incredible.

We stopped into The Mint today because our show “Celtic Angels Ireland” is on tour and we’re performing across the street tonight at The Grand! The service, food and atmosphere was absolutely superb. We ordered the soup of the day, chili, special wrap of the day, salmon dinner, and the BLT! Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious! We are so grateful for the experience we had and wanted to give a huge shout out to the staff! Thank you so much!
